When three-year old Christine Marie Tipsord
complained about a simple headache, her parents never dreamed
that doctors would discover she had a rare brain tumor.
Christine died just six weeks after this unimaginable
diagnosis. She was three months shy of her fourth birthday.
While Daniel and Susan, Christine's parents,
mourned the overwhelming loss of their daughter and braved
their own deep grief, they were confronted with another extremely
difficult challenge: how to help their surviving daughter,
Allison, navigate the grief of losing a sibling. This trying
ordeal inspired them to reach out and help other families
who found themselves in similar situations.
Project Christine equips parents who have lost
children to illnesses or accidents with the tools they need
to help their surviving children cope with their loss. These
tools include books, workbooks, and grief kits. Contributions
to The Project Christine Fund are accepted at any time by
the Community Foundation and are tax-deductible to the fullest
extent of the law.
